Miis are customizable characters that were debuted alongside the Wii via the Mii Channel, the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U via the Mii Maker. Their name is obviously a reference to the name of the Wii and the fact that the character can reflect the player (and of course others as well).

The Miis first appeared on the Nintendo Wii console, with a channel dedicated to making them. There were a multitude of different characteristics, including hair, eyes, noses, mouths, and such. Height, size, and hair color can also be changed, as can the color of their shirt, but pants are always the same color. The only exception is if the player favorites the Mii, which changes the pants to Maroon. These Mii's can be sent out to the internet for anyone to download and use, but only by the creator's choice. They were used in various games as avatars, and we're even moved to the 3DS with the same purpose, but now with more customization, and they had games available in the new Streetpass Mii plaza. So logically, they returned to the Wii U.
